How to Join the American LegionHere is what we will need to determine your qualification to join the Legion:
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.You must also submit a copy of your DD-214 (SSN can be blacked out); or Discharge documentation to show you were honorably discharged, your entrance date and discharge date.
